Half O model cars and trains
A slotcar is a miniature vehicle which runs on a track which has grooves or slots. Each car runs on its own guide slot. Slot cars are models of actual cars. There are three common slotcar scales; 1:24 scale, 1:32 scale and HO scale, which ranges from 1:87 to 1:64. HO slot cars these days are bigger and thus closer to the 1: 64 scale. The driver uses a controller to regulate the motor in these cars. While racing on a track, at turns and curves, the driver faces the challenge of maintaining high speeds without causing the car to topple sideways.
HO model trains are 1:87 scale, half of O scale. That is why they are called Half O scale. HO scale models are mainly for beginners and families. O scale, which is 1:48, is bigger and thus liked by hobbyists. HO model trains are popular among families as they are good for floor layouts. There are many companies which offer HO model Train tracks, layouts, accessories. HO scale is originated from America and since 1950; HO is a much preferred scale. Since HO scale trains are not very big, they occupy less space on floor. These trains are durable also as they are not very small.
